The Recreation Hall, decorated in Canada 150 red and white, was the scene of a lively gathering of volunteers. Vice President Myrna thanked all the volunteers for their contributions to the Museum this summer. We couldn’t operate without our wonderful volunteers. Special guests included former board members and Parks Canada staff.
Special recognition went to long time Board Members Herve and Ione Langlois for many years of dedication to the Museum. The Museum has become what it is due, in a large part, to the contribution of these two in their roles as Treasurer and Curator respectively. As well, over the years they have also done a myriad of other tasks from research to barbecuing, from running the kayak raffle to publishing books, from operating bingo to recruiting volunteers. Many thanks Herve and Ione!
Herve is pictured here opening his gift of golden bingo daubers and Ione is giving the wave as Kayak Queen.
After a tasty supper, our student guide Victoria shared a song with us accompanied by her ukulele. Shack tent volunteer, Mona, capably led the group in an enjoyable sing song of some great old tunes.
Thanks to organizers Ione and Betty Anne for planning a wonderful evening and to Derwin and Herve for barbecuing,
