Carrying on a fine Waskesiu tradition

Many thanks to Mitchell Jones who joined us at our booth at the Lakeside Festival.  Mitchell is carrying on the fine, old tradition of making fishing lures like other Waskesiu seasonal residents before him.  He demonstrated making jigs similar to the one shown here.  Visit his website to see a video of him handcrafting a jig:

Visit the museum to see the lures that Roscoe Ritchie and Cecil “Grandpa” Van Imp used to craft out of curling broom handles along with many other types of antique fishing gear.

Many anglers had much success over the years with these gentlemen’s hand made plugs, shown below.  Maybe you will have the same luck with one of Mitchell’s hooks!
